Dr. Schumann Tang 

PhD, PsyD, APA, APS, ASCPsy, HKAPO

Dr Schumann Tang received his education in Film Art and Clinical Psychology at New York University and University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) respectively.

He was a film producer/director and psychology professor in Los Angeles before he returned to Hong Kong in the 1980's. Since then, Dr Tang had served as clinical psychologist and consultant in a number of hospitals and NGOs until he started his own psychological clinic and a research institute in psychology in 1990. Later in the same year, he founded the Center for Interactive Play Therapy for children with ADHD and autism.

Dr Tang has served as chairman/member of several government commissions and committees since 1995. He is as well a member of the ESF Board of Governors, and voluntarily provides counseling consultancy to staff and parents of the ESF schools. In addition, Dr Tang also serves as Principal Consultant of H K Applied Psychology Organization.

Dr Tang is currently an active member of: American Psychology Association (APA), Association of Psychological Science USA (APS), American Society of Clinical Psychologists (ASCP).

Clinical Director

Anthea specializes in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and various types of developmental delays. She has extensive experience assessing and providing therapy to children with special needs. She has been providing clinic and home based therapy to children in a wide range of settings including special education schools, private practices and non profit organizations.

Anthea holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of British Columbia and a Master’s Degree in Health Psychology from The University of Sydney. She is a certified Canine Assisted Intervention Specialist (CAIS) from the University of Denver. She has years of training and teaching experience using the ABA and Social Thinking curriculum. Anthea also specializes in Sports Interventions for children with special needs. She offers therapy in both English and Cantonese.

Head of Program

Jane focuses on the various facets of children developmental psychology that revolve around social and learning behaviors such as language development or social-emotional literacy. She has extensive experience assessing and implementing various programs for children with special needs. Jane has worked as a behavioural therapist and received professional ABA training by a registered BCBA specialist. She has more than 7 years of experience in teaching children with ASD and other learning disabilities. In addition, Jane provides consultations and home-based behavioral training for parents and caregivers. She facilitates social groups for early learners and teaches children and adolescents in non-academic areas such as art and music.

Head of Program

Christine has been working with children with special needs in Hong Kong since 2014. She holds a Master's degree in Psychological Counselling from Monash University in Australia and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Manitoba in Canada. She has worked as a behavioural therapist for more than 4 years in both private practices and schools in Hong Kong. She has experience developing and providing intensive ABA-based behavioural intervention to children with ASD, both in home and centre-based programs. Christine values and encourages the power of teaching through play and daily activities, while using evidence-based strategies to strengthen various appropriate and functional skills all through one's life. Christine provides therapy in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Supervisor

Shermain specializes in children and adolescents mental health with a focus in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from McGill University and a MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from King’s College London, where she was trained and supervised by leading experts in the field. She has been working with children with special needs since 2015 as applied behavioural analysis (ABA) therapist. Shermain has experience in assessing children with special needs and implementing ABA techniques in home-based and centre-based therapy, conducting 1:1 individual therapy as well as group-based social thinking training. In addition, Shermain has experience working within the NHS under neurodevelopment team as well as in risk assessment team, and participated in ADHD medication assessments. Shermain values and is dedicated to advocate evidence-based knowledge and therapies for children with special needs. She offers therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Rudi joins Rise Wise Limited from South Africa to coordinate and run our brand-new Junior Squash program. He is a former PSA Tour Professional and a member of South African National Team and Junior Champion. He has a World Junior Squash ranking of 4. 

 

Rudi is a Certified Professional Squash Coach and has a huge interest in coaching children sports. He has vast experience coaching children and adults of all level and abilities in England, Toronto, New York and South Africa.

Rob Medalla

 

Rob joins Rise Wise Limited to coordinate and run our Junior Brazilian Jiu-jitsu program. He is a

BJJ purple belt and professional MMA fighter. He is also a

registered professional BJJ instructor in Espada.

​

Rob has over 5 years experiences coaching children and adults, and with over 5 years experiences working with children and toddler in child development centres.
